Nokia 8.1, the successor to the Nokia 8 is officially here and Nokia decided to release it as a mid-range device at the time of its launch. Right now, the Nokia 8.1 Nigeria price is quite close to some of the budget phones and let’s see if it will be a good idea to grab this phone or not.
Back in December, 2018 when the phone was released, phones with slim bezels and top notches were getting quite popular and Nokia followed the footsteps of those phones for the Nokia 8.1. This phone comes with a big 6.18-inch IPS LCD screen showing 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio and 408ppi of pixel density. The screen to body ratio is also quite decent, 81.2% and although it’s not an AMOLED display, you won’t be able to tell the difference easily. It’s also a premium looking phone as users get glass on both front and back side with plastic frame. It’s available in multiple colors including blue, iron, silver and copper. For those of you who are looking for affordable phones with higher refresh rate: there is the Realme X2 Pro and Xiaomi Poco X2 you can check out.
Most of the mid-range Nokia phone offers better than average camera performance and the Nokia 8.1 is no different. This phone comes with a pair of cameras on the back: a 12-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 13-megapixel camera. Although none of these cameras are ultra-wide angle, it gets the job done and offers great performance for a phone in this price range. Thanks to its Zeiss optics, users will be satisfied with the pictures captured in daylight. It’s also capable of capturing 4K videos which is also a nice feature to have. As for the front camera, it’s a 20-megapixel one with f/2.0 aperture which should be good enough for selfie lovers. There is the Google Pixel 3A and Samsung Galaxy S9 you can check out if you are looking for a phone in the same price range as the Nokia 8.1 Nigeria price with great camera.
Battery life is a major concern among users when it comes to getting a phone and the Nokia 8.1 won’t disappoint users in this area. This phone is powered by a 3500mAh Li-Ion battery and can easily last a day if you are not a heavy user. It also offers fast charging at 18W. As for the performance of the phone, it’s packing a Qualcomm SDM710 Snapdragon 710 (10 nm) octa-core processor paired with an optional 4 or 6GB of RAM. Some of the other notable features are: 64/128GB built-in storage, microSDXC card slot, upgradable to Android 10.0 OS, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB 2.0, Type-C 1.0 port and fingerprint sensor.
The Nokia 8.1 is currently available for about ₦ 88100 at the moment.
